Father Frost

Father Frost (Ded Moroz) is a mythological winter wizard invented by Slavs. He wears warm clothing to protect him from the cold and carries a magic staff. As time passed he found himself an occupation that keeps him busy, delivering presents to children on New Year's Eve. It is good when people can meet the New Year with a gift.

My OOAK Father Frost is 51cm tall from his base to the tip of his staff. I have needle felted him using wool, without armature or filler. His warm clothes are made of mohair in different shades of blue and grey. I have added mohair trimmings to decorate his outfit. My Father Frost has black glass eyes and facial features highlighted with black thread. I have rooted his hair, beard, eye brows and mustache using white Tibetan mohair.

Father Frost needs to have a magic staff to cast his spells. I have created a snowy staff for him. His base is made of plywood covered in woolen 'snow'. The underside is protected with a layer of handmade felt so that it will not damage furniture.
